1. Guadalest & the Algar Waterfalls

If we had to choose just one complete day trip from Moraira, Guadalest and Les Fonts de l’Algar would be one of our favourites. Start in the mountain village of Guadalest, known for its castle, narrow streets and views over the turquoise reservoir. Afterwards, continue to the Algar Waterfalls, with natural pools and waterfalls surrounded by rock and vegetation. The two are easy to combine in one day.

2. Altea

Altea is best known for its beautiful whitewashed old town and the church with its distinctive blue domes. Walk uphill through the narrow streets, stop for a drink around the church square and combine your visit with lunch or dinner.
Our tip: make sure you visit the old town on the hill rather than only the seafront.

3. Jávea

Jávea or Xàbia in Valencian combines an historic centre, harbour, beaches and a spectacular coastline. Spend time in the old town, have lunch by the sea or explore viewpoints and coves such as La Granadella. It is a good choice if you want a day trip with plenty of variety.

4. Dénia

Dénia is particularly enjoyable if you like to combine culture with good food. Visit the castle, explore the town centre and harbour and make time for a long lunch. Dénia is well known for its gastronomy and has an excellent choice of restaurants.
Our tip: don’t rush lunch food is part of the reason to visit Dénia.

5. Valencia

Valencia is further from Moraira, but it is perfectly possible as a full-day trip. You could explore the historic centre with the Mercado Central and cathedral, or visit the modern City of Arts and Sciences and Oceanogràfic.
Our tip: don’t try to see the whole city in one day. Choose what interests you most and leave the rest for another visit.
