Noche de San Juan (June 23)

During Noche de San Juan, the Spaniards celebrate the beginning of summer. And they always do that on June 23. That evening everyone gathered on the large La Ampolla beach. Everyone brings cool boxes full of food and drinks. And of course picnic blankets or even folding tables with chairs. As soon as it gets dark, a big bonfire is lit. And at 00.00 a fantastic fireworks show starts at the Castle of Moraira that everyone on the beach can enjoy.

Patron Saint’s Day (July)

During the Patron Saint Festivities in July, Moraira hosts two spectacular fireworks events. On the evening of 15 July 2026, at approximately 11:00 PM, a spectacular fireworks display takes place near Moraira Castle.
On the following evening, 16 July 2026, at approximately 11:30 PM, a Mascletà Nocturna is held. This is a traditional rhythmic fireworks display in which the emphasis is on powerful explosions rather than colourful visual effects. The fireworks display on 15 July takes place near Moraira Castle, while the Mascletà Nocturna on 16 July is held along the Paseo del Senillar. On both 15 and 16 July, a traditional daytime Mascletà also takes place at 2:00 PM on the Paseo del Senillar.

Fireworks on New Year’s Eve in Moraira?

Against all odds, no fireworks show will be organized by Moraira during New Year’s Eve. Nevertheless, the Spaniards and the many tourists still light fireworks that evening.
