We hebben heerlijke dagen in El Nido gehad met ons gezin 7 volwassenen en 1 baby. Alles was aanwezig, zelfs boeken en spelletjes. Het zwembad was heerlijk en de buitenkeuken...
There is plenty to do around Moraira when travelling with children. Moraira itself has a small family amusement park, while the Benidorm area is home to several large theme parks, water parks and animal parks. DinoPark Algar and Family Park are particularly suitable for younger children, while Terra Mítica, Aqualandia and Terra Natura are better suited to a full day out.

You do not even have to leave Moraira for a few hours of family entertainment. Family Park Moraira is a small amusement park with several attractions for children, including small roller-coaster-style rides, trampolines, cars, carousels and play equipment. Entry to the park itself is free. You pay for the attractions using a day wristband or rechargeable card. Opening times vary throughout the year. Family Park Moraira and its sister park in Calpe are open daily during the main holiday season, while reduced opening schedules apply outside peak periods.
Our tip: ideal if you do not want to plan an entire day out, but would like something fun to do with the children after the beach or towards the end of the afternoon.

Calpe also has its own Family Park. This park includes a small roller coaster, go-karts, bumper cars, a pirate ship, a free-fall ride and several attractions for younger children. It is located close to the coast and the Penyal d’Ifac. As in Moraira, entrance to the grounds is free and rides are paid for using a card or wristband.

For a proper full-day theme park experience, Terra Mítica near Benidorm is the main option. The park is inspired by ancient Mediterranean civilisations and combines roller coasters, water rides, free-fall attractions, family rides and shows.
Good to know: Terra Mítica operates according to a seasonal calendar. Outside the main summer season, fewer themed areas may be open. During peak season, all main areas are normally accessible. It is therefore worth checking the current calendar before you travel.
Our tip: this is our preferred choice when children are a little older and mainly want roller coasters and larger rides.

For younger children, DinoPark Algar near Callosa d’en Sarrià offers something completely different. Among hundreds of cacti you will find dinosaurs, including moving models of well-known species such as the T-rex and Stegosaurus. There is also a 3D cinema. The park is located approximately one kilometre from the famous Fonts de l’Algar waterfalls. DinoPark is seasonal. It is currently open from March until November and closed during December, January and February.
Our tip: combine DinoPark with a visit to the Algar Waterfalls for an easy family day trip.

On a hot summer day, Aqualandia is one of the best-known water parks on the Costa Blanca. The park has more than twenty water attractions, ranging from quieter family areas and a wave pool to high-speed slides such as Verti-Go and Big Bang. Individual height and safety restrictions apply to each attraction. Aqualandia is seasonal and is therefore not open throughout the year.
Our tip: in July and August we recommend buying tickets online and arriving when the park opens.

Aqua Natura is located directly next to Terra Natura, making it easy to combine the water park with the neighbouring animal park. The park has areas for younger children, swimming pools and larger water slides. In 2026, Jungle Race was added: a 135-metre-long water attraction where visitors can race side by side. Combined tickets for Terra Natura and Aqua Natura are available.
📍Avenida Alcalde Eduardo Zaplana | Benidorm | website
If you would rather spend the day seeing animals, Terra Natura is a good option. The park is divided into themed areas including Asia, The Americas and Pangea and is home to animals such as elephants, rhinoceroses, jaguars, monkeys, birds, reptiles and several endangered species. Conservation plays an important role in the way the park presents its animals. As Aqua Natura is situated directly next door, both parks can easily be combined.
Our tip: with younger children, we often prefer a combination of Terra Natura and a few hours at Aqua Natura to spending a full day at Terra Mítica.

Mundomar mainly focuses on marine mammals, birds and other animal species. You can see dolphins, sea lions, penguins, otters, lemurs and tropical birds. The park also offers various presentations and optional animal experiences.
One useful clarification compared with older information online: Mundomar offers a dolphin encounter where visitors can get close to the dolphins. The activity where visitors actually enter the water and swim is with sea lions.

For children who prefer being active rather than sitting on rides, Tirolinas Go! Alicante in La Nucía is an interesting alternative. The adventure park consists of treetop courses with suspension bridges, nets, ropes and ziplines. The longest double zipline is approximately 300 metres. The family circuit is accessible from the age of five and a minimum height of 1.10 metres. The park operates throughout the year, although opening days and times vary depending on the season, school holidays and weather conditions.
Our tip: particularly enjoyable in spring and autumn, when temperatures are more comfortable for an active climbing course.
📍Carrer de Guadalest 2 | La Nucia | website
Río Safari Elche is considerably further from Moraira, so it would not normally be our first choice for a family day out. However, it has developed into considerably more than a traditional animal park. During summer there is a large Splash Park with twenty slides, seven swimming pools and a lazy river. There is also a separate Aventura Park with climbing activities, ziplines and karting. It is worth considering if you are already planning to visit Alicante or Elche, but for a normal holiday day trip from Moraira, the parks around Benidorm are more practical.

For younger children, we would start with Family Park Moraira or DinoPark Algar. For a complete day out, we would choose Terra Mítica or Aqualandia, depending on the age of the children and whether you prefer rides or water attractions. With younger children, we particularly like the combination of Terra Natura + Aqua Natura: see the animals first and cool off in the water park afterwards.
