Summer in Moraira

June, July and August are the warmest and driest months. Average daytime maximum temperatures rise from around 26°C in June to 29°C in July and approximately 30°C in August. July is usually particularly dry, while the Mediterranean reaches around 25–26°C by July and August. These are the most popular months for beach holidays, swimming and spending long days by the pool. During the hottest part of July and August, we prefer walking, cycling and sightseeing in the morning or later in the afternoon.

Spring | March, April and May

Spring is one of our favourite times of year in Moraira. Average daytime highs rise from around 18°C in March to 23°C in May. This makes spring particularly pleasant for walking, cycling, golf and exploring the Costa Blanca. By May, many days already feel very summery, although the sea is still considerably cooler than during July and August.

September and October

September is one of the best months for anyone who enjoys warm weather but prefers to avoid the busiest part of summer. Average daytime maximum temperatures are still around 28°C in September, while the Mediterranean remains warm after the summer. Even in October, average sea temperatures remain around 22°C, so swimming is often still possible. The chance of rain does increase during autumn. October is generally one of the wetter months of the year.

Winter in Moraira

Winters are mild compared with northern Europe. Average daytime maximum temperatures in December, January and February are around 16°C. On sunny, sheltered terraces it can feel very pleasant during the middle of the day, but mornings, evenings and cloudy or windy days can be noticeably cooler. Moraira is therefore popular with visitors who prefer to spend several weeks in Spain during the colder European winter.
