Stand Up Paddle in Moraira

Stand Up Paddle is one of the easiest ways to get out on the water. The sheltered bay of El Portet is particularly suitable for beginners on calm days. SUP boards can be rented locally, and lessons and guided tours are also available.
Our tip: go in the morning when the sea is often calmer and temperatures are more comfortable.

Kayaking along the coast

Kayaking is a great way to explore parts of the coastline that are difficult to see from the road. Single and double kayaks are available for rent in Moraira, and guided coastal tours are also organised towards areas such as Cap d’Or. Kayaking is easy to try, but for longer routes along the rocky coast we recommend a guided tour if you have little experience.
Our tip: a good choice if you want to combine exercise with sightseeing.

Diving & snorkelling

Moraira’s rocky coastline is also interesting below the surface. You can snorkel from several coves or join a local diving school. There are introductory dives for beginners as well as dives for experienced divers. Prefer to keep it simple? A mask, snorkel and water shoes are often enough to discover plenty from the shore.

Sailing & sea rowing

From Club Náutico Moraira, you can also try sailing and sea rowing. Sailing lessons and introductory courses are available, so you do not need previous experience. Sea rowing is less well known but can also be practised in Moraira, using individual or double rowing boats and the traditional Mediterranean falucho.
Our tip: sailing is a good option if you want to do more than simply spend time on the water and would like to learn a new skill.

Jet ski & eFoil

Looking for something faster? Jet ski activities and excursions are available from Moraira, offering a more adventurous way to explore the coast. A newer alternative is eFoiling at El Portet. An eFoil is an electrically powered board that rises above the water on a hydrofoil once enough speed is reached. Beginners can try it during a guided lesson.

Rent a boat in Moraira

Would you rather spend a relaxing day exploring the coast? Different types of boats can be rented from Moraira. You can choose to operate a boat yourself if you hold the required licence, or book a boat with a skipper. Since 1 October 2026, stricter rules apply in Spain when operating rented motorboats yourself. Always check which licence is required for the specific boat before booking.

Windsurfing, wingfoil & catamaran sailing

For some water sports, nearby Les Bassetes on the Benissa Costa offers more options than Moraira itself. Activities available there include:

  • windsurfing
  • wingfoil
  • catamaran sailing
  • kayaking;
  • SUP

Les Bassetes is only a short drive from Moraira and is particularly interesting if you want to learn windsurfing or wingfoiling.

Water sports with children

There are also plenty of options for families. For a first experience, we would mainly recommend SUP, a double kayak or snorkelling. During the summer, supervised water-sports activities are also organised for children and teenagers. Always check minimum age requirements, swimming ability and current safety conditions beforehand.

What is the best time to go out on the water?

For SUP, kayaking and snorkelling, the morning is often the best time. Temperatures are usually more comfortable and sea conditions can be calmer. However, the Mediterranean is still the sea. Always check the wind and weather forecast and follow the instructions of your rental company or instructor.

Our tip

If you simply want to try something new, start with SUP or kayaking. To explore more of the coastline, choose a guided kayak, snorkelling or diving excursion. For more action, try jet skiing or eFoiling. And if your main objective is relaxation, a boat with a skipper is difficult to beat.
