1. Castillo de Moraira | The Castle by the Sea
Right in the heart of Moraira, next to L’Ampolla beach, you’ll find Castillo de Moraira. This historic fortress was built in 1742 to protect the coastline from pirate attacks. Its distinctive horseshoe shape, thick stone walls and beautiful seaside location make it one of Moraira’s most recognisable landmarks.
Our tip: Combine your visit with a walk along the seafront. Next to the castle, you’ll also find the unusual sculpture El Gigante de Sal.

2. Cap d’Or | Walk to the Historic Watchtower
High above El Portet bay stands Torre del Cap d’Or, a 16th-century watchtower that once formed part of the coastal defence system. A short but fairly steep hiking trail leads to the tower. Once you reach the top, you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views across El Portet, Moraira and the Mediterranean Sea.
Our tip: Start early in the morning, especially during summer. The trail is rocky, with very little shade, so bring sturdy walking shoes and plenty of water.

3. Playa del Portet | Moraira’s Most Beautiful Bay
El Portet is undoubtedly one of Moraira’s most picturesque places. Its sheltered sandy beach, turquoise water and charming waterfront terraces make it a favourite among visitors and locals. The bay is popular with families, swimmers, snorkellers and paddleboarders, particularly when the sea is calm.
Our tip: We love El Portet early in the morning, when the bay is particularly peaceful. During July and August, arrive early because parking is limited.

4. Moraira Marina | Fishing Boats and Waterfront Terraces
Moraira’s attractive marina combines traditional fishing boats with modern sailing yachts. Take a stroll around the harbour, watch the boats coming and going, or enjoy lunch overlooking the water. It’s a lovely place to experience the relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle. The marina is also a starting point for exploring the Costa Blanca coastline by boat.
Our tip: Combine a walk around the harbour with lunch at Club Náutico. Its waterfront setting is perfect for watching life on the marina.

5. Vineyards of Teulada | Discover Local Moscatel Wine
Just a few kilometres inland from Moraira lies Teulada, surrounded by traditional vineyards and beautiful Mediterranean countryside. The area is particularly well known for its Moscatel grapes, used to produce local wines and the sweet dessert wine mistela. Several wineries in the region offer guided tours and tastings. Bodega Montesanco in Teulada is a particularly interesting place to visit, while the San Vicente Ferrer wine cooperative has a long tradition of producing local wines.
