3 Lovely Beach Bars Near Moraira and Benissa Costa

Picture yourself sitting on a sunny terrace overlooking the Mediterranean, with a refreshing drink in your hand and the sound of the sea in the background. That’s exactly what makes the little beach bars along the Benissa coastline so special. Between Moraira and Calpe, you’ll discover several lovely Spanish beach bars, traditionally known as chiringuitos or xiringuitos. Rather than the large beach clubs found in busy resorts, these are relaxed places beside beautiful Mediterranean coves. Perfect for a morning coffee, a leisurely lunch or a refreshing drink with a sea view. Here are three of our favourite beach bars near Moraira.

What Is a Spanish Chiringuito?

A chiringuito is a traditional Spanish beach bar or restaurant, usually located right beside the sea. Some are simple places serving cold drinks and a few tapas. Others offer extensive menus with fresh fish, Mediterranean dishes, paella and cocktails. What makes them special is their informal atmosphere and beautiful coastal setting. And along Benissa Costa, just a short distance from Moraira, you’ll find some particularly lovely examples.

1. Mandala Beach Bar | Cala La Fustera

Mandala Beach Bar is located beside the beautiful sandy beach of Cala La Fustera. Of our three recommendations, Mandala probably offers the most complete beach-bar experience. You can enjoy a morning coffee, a relaxed lunch, Mediterranean dishes or a cocktail while looking out across the sheltered bay. The clear blue water and lovely beach make this a wonderful place to spend a few hours.
Our tip: combine a swim at La Fustera with lunch at Mandala. It’s also a lovely place to stop if you’re exploring the Paseo Ecológico coastal walking route.
📍Avenida Navegante Pepe Ribes | Benissa.

2. L’Espigó | Cala Advocat

At the charming little cove of Cala Advocat, you’ll find Xiringuito L’Espigó. This beach bar enjoys a lovely position overlooking the Mediterranean, with views towards Calpe’s famous Peñón de Ifach. The menu includes tapas, Mediterranean dishes and other casual meals. It’s an excellent place to stop for lunch after spending the morning swimming or relaxing by the sea.
Our tip: if you’re hoping to enjoy a particular rice dish or paella, check the current menu and ask whether advance ordering is necessary.
📍Carrer del Gavià | Benissa.

3. Olalà | Cala Baladrar

Our third recommendation is Xiringuito Olalà, overlooking Cala Baladrar. This is one of those places that perfectly captures the relaxed atmosphere of the Costa Blanca. The beach bar sits slightly above the cove, surrounded by pine trees that provide welcome natural shade. From the terrace, you can enjoy beautiful views across the Mediterranean towards the Peñón de Ifach. The menu features tapas, paella and other Mediterranean favourites.
Our tip: we particularly like Olalà on warm summer days. Sitting beneath the pine trees with a sea breeze is a lovely alternative to spending the entire afternoon in the sun.
📍Carrer de la Manta |  Benissa.

Which Beach Bar Would We Choose?

That really depends on the kind of afternoon you’re planning.

  • Mandala | our choice for combining a sandy beach, swimming and a leisurely lunch
  • L’Espigó | ideal for enjoying a smaller cove, a Mediterranean meal and lovely sea views
  • Olalà | perfect for a relaxed terrace surrounded by pine trees and overlooking the coastline

All three can be popular during July and August, so booking ahead is a good idea if you’d like a table for lunch or dinner. Menus and opening hours can change, particularly outside the main summer season.

Combine a Beach Bar with a Beautiful Coastal Walk

One of the nicest things about this part of the Costa Blanca is that the beach bars are surrounded by some beautiful scenery. The coastline between Moraira and Calpe is dotted with small coves, rocky headlands and clear Mediterranean water. You could spend the morning snorkelling, relaxing on the beach or exploring the coastal paths before settling down for lunch.

For a particularly lovely walk, discover the Paseo Ecológico in Benissa Costa, which takes you past beautiful sections of the coastline near Cala La Fustera. And if you enjoy discovering local restaurants, take a look at our Food & Drinks in Moraira guide.

Enjoy the Mediterranean Lifestyle in Moraira

For us, these little beach bars are part of what makes Moraira and Benissa Costa so enjoyable. You don’t need a large beach resort to find somewhere lovely for lunch. Sometimes the nicest terrace is tucked away beside a small Mediterranean cove.
